Dave – Sports Injury Specialist
My journey began with a bachelors degree in Sport Rehabilitation and Training at St Mary’s College in Twickenham. The more I learned, the more I realised there was to learn, so ever since I have sought to expand my knowledge at every opportunity.
Whilst keeping abreast of the ever growing evidence base, which greatly influences my practice, I also draw on my 20+ years’ experience of working with the body to construct a patient centred rehabilitation plan.
I enjoy working with all musculoskeletal problems, but my special interest lies in chronic pain. These cases are always multifactorial, encompassing movement, strength, the breathing system, the brain & central nervous system, sleep & nutrition. The challenge of combining all of these factors for an individualised approach, and helping that person to become pain free is what I find particularly satisfying and rewarding.
My own sporting endeavours in triathlon, golf, snowboarding, skiing and more recently ultra marathons keep me passionate about training for performance with longevity in mind.
This involves the right balance between the different types of strength training, aerobic conditioning and high intensity training, which as always is hugely individual depending on body type and performance goals.
