OUR PHILOSOPHY
INTRODUCTION
The human body has two main priorities, you have to breathe and you have to move, with out either of these you will die, therefore the body will always find a compensation strategy for them, whether optimal or not. If you’re running a sub-optimal strategy this may lead to sub-optimal biomechanics which could in turn lead to injury and or chronic pain. The goal would be to optimise this system, thereby getting the body moving efficiently with confidence & ease.
ASSESSMENT
Every acute or chronic issue will have a root cause or primary driver. These could come from a variety of mechanisms; e.g. an obvious trauma, movement dysfunction, strength deficit, poor breathing strategy, the brain & central nervous system. We need to find these drivers and work out how to address them, whilst managing symptoms along the way.
REHAB
Ultimately, the rehab process is about empowering the patient with the tools they need to take ownership & responsibility of their problem so that they can confidently manage it going forwards without needing to rely on me or any other therapist.
Every patient will be given some kind of home exercise programme. To stimulate repair of soft tissue structures (eg. muscle/tendon/ligament) or create structural adaptation (eg. increasing range of movement) you need to give a regular stimulus, sometimes this will mean 3 times per day for a few weeks, and other times every day for 4 months, so come ready to put the work in!

David has an innate feel for human biomechanics. My own personal experience is that he has helped me when others could not- and I have heard first-hand report from very many more of similar success, over at least 12 years.
This relates to sportspeople, doctors, musicians and martial artists. He has also helped ex-patients of mine and of others. He is cheerful, honest and reliable, and commend him greatly.
I started work with David in Feb 2018. I had numerous injuries, including back pain, and a groin injury that expected to go through surgery for. I had very little faith that I’d get back to the sports/activities I loved at all, even with medical intervention. In less than a year I’m fitter and stronger than I have been in years, largely pain-free and back to playing my beloved football.
My music-related RSI seems to have disappeared too. Turn up expecting to work, this is no miracle cure, but under David’s guidance you’ll be given a clear roadmap back to health. If you put the work in you’ll get amazing results.
