My approach

Your body has two priorities. Breathe and move.

Everything else comes second. When either is compromised, your body finds a workaround. Workarounds keep you going, but they can load your tissues in ways they weren’t built for, and that’s often where injuries and persistent pain begin.

I look for what’s driving the problem, not just where it hurts, and help your body move efficiently again, with confidence and ease.

Find the cause

Every injury has a root cause: past trauma, movement, strength, breathing or how your nervous system is responding. We find the driver and manage your symptoms along the way.

Move first

Exercise is the most effective treatment. It rebuilds the resilience of your tissues, your strength, mobility and confidence. Your programme is built around the equipment you have and goals beyond the injury.

Own your recovery

The aim is independence. You’ll leave with the tools to manage this yourself, without relying on me or any therapist. That takes consistent work, sometimes several times a day for weeks, and I’ll guide you through it.

Sleep, nutrition, stress and training load all shape how you recover. As a former chef, I treat nutrition as a genuine strength, not an add-on.

About David

Hi, I’m David.

I’m a sports rehabilitation specialist with over 20 years’ experience. My journey began with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation and Training at St Mary’s in Twickenham, and the more I learned, the more I realised there was to learn. I’ve kept studying ever since.

I stay on top of the evidence, but I rely just as much on two decades of working hands-on with the body. Every rehabilitation plan I build is centred on the person in front of me.

I enjoy all musculoskeletal problems, but persistent pain is my special interest. It’s always multifactorial, involving movement, strength, breathing, the nervous system, sleep and nutrition. Pulling those together into a plan that fits one person is the part of my work I find most rewarding.

Outside the clinic I train and compete in triathlon and ultra marathons, and I ski, snowboard and play golf. That keeps me focused on performance with longevity in mind: the right balance of strength, aerobic and high-intensity training for your body and your goals. And before rehab, I spent years as a chef, which is why I take nutrition seriously.

What I help with

Rehabilitation, performance and lifestyle, wrapped up in one approach.

The body is one connected system, so I don’t treat an injury in isolation. Whether you’re in pain, recovering from surgery, or training towards a goal, the aim is the same: get you moving well and keep you active for life.

Rehabilitation

Back, neck, shoulder, knee, hip, tendons, arthritis, osteoporosis, sports injuries, persistent pain

From acute sports injuries to pain that’s built up over months or years. Chronic pain is my special interest, because it’s always multifactorial: movement, strength, breathing, the nervous system, sleep and nutrition.

Muscle activation identifies muscles that aren’t doing their share of the work, often after an injury or because of how you move, and gets them working again so load is shared properly.

Performance

Running, triathlon, cycling, golf, strength training

Most runners neglect top-end strength, power and plyometrics, and no rehab is complete without them. I’ll keep you training wherever possible, and build you back stronger than before.

Lifestyle & longevity

Exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress, healthy ageing

Staying strong, independent and active into later life. A programme built around your goals, not just your injury.

Having an operation?

Getting as strong as possible beforehand makes a big difference to your recovery. A basic sheet of post-op exercises stops working after a couple of weeks, because it needs progressing. I design rehab that evolves with you, for knees, hips, shoulders and more. Places are limited.

Living with osteoporosis?

Strength training is one of the most effective ways to support bone health, build confidence and reduce your risk of falls. I build programmes that are safe, progressive and tailored to you.

How it works

A clear path from first enquiry to independence.

1

Enquire

Tell me about your injury and what you want to get back to. I’ll get back to you to arrange your assessment.

2

Assessment

A one-hour session in my Soho treatment room. Beforehand you’ll complete two short questionnaires, one medical and one lifestyle. We look at your history, movement, strength and breathing to find what’s driving the problem.

3

Treatment & exercise plan

Hands-on work where it helps, alongside exercise from the start. Your programme builds gradually, designed around the equipment you have. Most people need around six sessions, though it varies with the problem.

4

Your next step

Two routes, below.

Route A: Independence

You leave with the tools to manage things yourself. Come back for an occasional check-in, every 6 to 12 weeks or whenever you need me.

Route B: Ongoing support

Prefer continued guidance? Regular sessions keep your programme progressing as your goals change, with accountability and expert eyes on your training. Session blocks or a monthly, quarterly or annual membership.

Working with me

Simple, transparent pricing.

Book sessions as you need them, or take a regular weekly slot when one becomes available.

One-to-one sessions

£150 per hour

Everyone starts with an initial assessment: a full hour looking at what’s driving your problem, and the start of your treatment and exercise plan. Follow-ups are booked as you need them, or in blocks of 6 or 10 at the same rate.

Regular weekly slot

From £579 per month

Your own hour each week, held for you, with your programme progressing alongside. Also available quarterly at £1,649.

Regular slots are limited. Most clients begin with individual sessions and move to a regular slot as one opens up. Sessions need 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.

Online programmes

Support you can follow from home.

Not everyone needs, or can fit into, regular one-to-one sessions. These programmes bring the same approach to you, online.

Testimonials

What my clients say

“He has helped me when others could not.”

David has an innate feel for human biomechanics. He has helped me when others could not, and I have heard first-hand reports of similar success from very many more, over at least 12 years. This relates to sportspeople, doctors, musicians and martial artists. He is cheerful, honest and reliable, and I commend him greatly.
